perfectionist, experienced, thorough

I am known by those around me to be a perfectionist which, as far as my line of work is concerned, is probably not such a bad thing.

my story

Having joined the BSN & Co team way back in 1987, it would be fair to say that I am considered as part of the furniture, bordering on “antique”, having outlasted several generations of furniture here at BSN!

I usually work three days a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays). My current role is best described as data processor/corporate secretary which involves processing clients’ financial statements and tax returns, customising reports to meet clients’ individual needs and looking after all corporate secretarial work, including preparing and lodging various forms with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission.

Since joining the workforce as a mere youngster in 1979, I was employed as an office junior with an accounting firm and was soon promoted to secretary to the chartered accountant. Back then, I used to type all the financial statements and tax returns on a “state of the art” IBM golf ball typewriter, using a few sheets of carbon paper for copies (thank god for white-out!). I then went on to work for another accounting firm before starting my own computer services business, which mainly serviced accountants and the odd mining company.

I am known by those around me to be a perfectionist which, as far as my line of work is concerned, is probably not such a bad thing. However my family, especially my two sons, will testify otherwise!

Being a Freo Dockers supporter, I enjoy going to their home games with my family. I also follow my son’s footy team and enjoy my role as the interchange steward.
